Studio Policies

Welcome to Flourish Aerial Motion & Wellness.
We’re so glad you’ve chosen to build community with us. These policies help keep our studio a safe, inclusive, and supportive space for everyone — instructors, students, and guests alike. Please take a moment to review our policies before your visit.

Our Community Agreements help to guide every policy and decision at Flourish. They’re our foundation for creating a space that’s safe, inclusive, and grounded in care.

Community Agreements

At Flourish, our community agreements are the shared understandings that guide how we show up together — in movement, in conversation, and in care. They’re not rules to follow but intentions we practice, helping us create a space where everyone can feel safe, seen, and supported as they grow. If and when a conflict arises, we’ll return to these agreements to ground ourselves, find clarity, and move forward with care.

  • Safety is our foundation
Everyone deserves to be and feel safe, smart, and seen. We care for our space, our bodies, and one another, checking our choices against this shared standard.

  • Curiosity over certainty
We enter practice and conversation with open minds—willing to learn, unlearn, and adjust, even in discomfort.

  • Repair over blame
When tension or harm arises, we pause, listen, and work toward understanding and restoration.

  • Care that sustains
We honor balance: effort and rest, individuality and community. We make decisions that support our bodies, our energy, and this collective for the long term.

  • Flourish together
Growth is shared. We listen, affirm, and celebrate each person’s journey as part of the whole.

Flourish was built to be a space where every body and identity can move, rest, and grow without judgment. Our community agreements guide how we practice that every day — choosing care over competition, repair over blame, and curiosity over certainty.

We do not tolerate harassment, exclusion, or discrimination in any form. Instead, we nurture an environment where joy, safety, and growth are possible for everyone. Here, every person deserves to feel safe, seen, and supported — and to know they belong.

Booking, Cancellations & Refunds

  • All bookings are completed through our booking site WellnessLiving. The only exception is the booking of parties, private rentals and events.

  • Cancellations must be made at least 12 hours in advance to retain your class credit.

  • Late cancels and no-shows forfeit class credits.

  • One grace cancellation will be given upon request via email but please do your best to cancel, as late cancellations impact our instructors & to move your class credit or return it after the cancellation period requires manual override.

  • Parties and private events require a non-refundable deposit.

  • Refunds are not issued once class credits, packages, or memberships are active.

Safety & Participation

Your safety and comfort matter most.

  • Warm-ups are essential before using any pole or aerial apparatus.

  • Instructors may modify or stop unsafe movement attempts to ensure a student is not injured and to provide direction to avoid injury.

  • Please do not attempt to spot another dancer without their consent and please do not offer spotting unless you know the proper spot. In classes please leave this up to instructors.

  • Avoid oils or lotions before class to maintain safe grip.

  • Please remove any and all wrist and finger jewelry, as they will scratch the finish of the poles leading to higher wear and tear and a bed to replace them sooner.

  • Please clean your poles with alcohol & microfiber towels before and after your session. Failure to do so leads to grip sitting on poles that can damage the finish long term.

  • Let your instructor know of any injuries or limitations before class.

  • We know this can be disappointing, but for everyone’s safety and protection, no one may offer instruction or one-on-one lessons in the studio unless they are a Flourish instructor. Our insurance only covers certified Flourish staff, and this boundary exists to protect our instructors’ work, the studio’s reputation, and the trust that makes this community possible.

That said, we value collaboration and shared growth. If you’re an instructor interested in offering private sessions or specialized training, talk with us. Exceptions can be made through conversation with the owners and a written rental or partnership agreement, which includes a set hourly rate for use of the space. This ensures all instructors contribute equitably to maintaining the space and community we share.

Unlike most studios, we don’t staff or restrict Open Pole hours — members can train freely from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. anytime the studio isn’t in use for class. That flexibility exists so you can practice at your own pace without feeling watched or pressured. Open Pole is for personal training and exploration, not for teaching, coaching or spectating. Keeping it that way preserves both the safety and the freedom that make Flourish unique.

Privacy, Photos & Media

  • You’re welcome to take photos or videos of yourself during class unless otherwise specified by an instructor.

  • Always ask before filming or photographing anyone else in the studio, and never post photos or videos that include others without their consent. If you capture content and don’t have everyone’s permission, please use a blur feature or another method to protect your classmates’ privacy and wishes.

  • Flourish may share group photos or class moments on social media with participant consent.

    • In the event that you note imagery of yourself posted by Flourish social media accounts and wish them removed please shoot us an email and we will remove it. No questions asked! You can revoke consent with no issue!

Open Pole Policy (Please Read)

Violation of these Open Pole agreements may lead to a 3-12 month open pole ban.

Our Open Pole sessions are available daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. and are completely unstaffed, giving dancers the freedom to train independently on their own schedule. This flexibility is one of the things that makes Flourish special—students can explore their creativity, practice at their own pace, and use the space in a way that fits their personal goals. Because these sessions are unstaffed, it’s important that everyone who uses the space independently, has a foundation in safe pole practices and understands how to properly use the equipment . Please note these Open Pole Policies:

  • Open Pole requires completion of a prerequisite Pole Curious (Introduction to Pole) class before booking.

    • If you have pole experience - you may take a different class to satisfy the prerequisite or Pole playdate (our social event Sundays). We have beginner classes in Curve2Pole & in Pole Crush that may also serve as a prerequisite. More advanced classes may require additional prerequisites. You can shoot us an email if you'd like an advanced class as your prerequisite.

    • Individual exceptions can be made for out of town proven polers or folks the owners have poled with before. You must request a waiver of the prerequisite via email. Note that these requests are handled within 24 to 48hrs. We cannot guarantee you will be able to bypass the prerequisite the same day you request it.

    • Parties do not satisfy the prerequisite for open pole.

    • After completion of the prerequisite, it usually takes a day for the system to register completion of your prerequisite. Please allow for the day lag or directly request access from the instructor you completed with. They may or may not be able to manually place you in the open pole time you request

    • The prerequisite ensures that everyone entering the space can train confidently and responsibly while keeping the environment safe and sustainable for the whole community.

  • All Flourish Community Agreements apply during Open Pole sessions. We hold each other accountable through care, conversation, and reflection—not punishment. Integrity, inclusion, and mutual respect guide how we share the space. If concerns arise, we’ll address them directly and work together toward repair and understanding.

  • Open Pole is for independent practice only. No instruction, 1:1 training, or teaching others is permitted during these sessions.

  • Spectators are NOT allowed under ANY circumstance. Everyone present in the studio during Open Pole must be registered and paid for that session.

    • You may not bring any minors into the space either.

    • If you bring other people into the space you are subject to a 3 month open pole ban.

  • Only approved grip aids are allowed: iTac, Dry Hands, and shaving foam. Other grip products can damage the poles or flooring and aren’t permitted in the space.

  • Shoes, grip aids, and pole cleaning supplies must be used in ways that protect equipment and surfaces.

  • Please clean the poles before and after each use. Clean to where you have climbed. Repeated failure to do this may lead to restricted access to open pole. Grip left on the pole damages the pole finish which leads to a need to replace that pole faster.

  • Please remove all wrist and finger jewelry to avoid damaging the poles.

  • All poles & safety mats must be cleaned after use. Stainless steel poles & mats should be wiped thoroughly with alcohol & a microfiber towel. The black silicone pole must be cleaned with water only. No grip aids of any kind may be used on the black silicone pole.

  • Return all shared items—including grip aids, phone stands, spray bottles, and cloths—to their proper place before leaving the studio. Please also pick up any trash, personal items, or spills, and leave the space as you found it so it’s ready for the next person.

  • Always ask consent before filming or photographing others, and do not post content featuring anyone without their consent.

  • Be mindful of sound, space, and shared equipment—Open Pole is a shared community space, not a private rental.

  • Please turn off all lights when you leave, except for the lotus lamp near the door, which should remain on.

  • If you are the last person in the studio, make sure the door is locked securely behind you before leaving.

  • The Bluetooth/AUX setup is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please be considerate—share the music, swap songs, and keep the vibe collaborative so everyone feels welcome.

  • Report any damage or safety concerns immediately by emailing flourish_cbus@gmail.com or notifying a staff member.

  • Please note, open pole is monitored via camera 24/7 - 365. We will be aware if you violate the policy.

    • The first violation may lead to a 3 month ban from open pole booking. The second is a year. We believe in maintaining a psychologically safe space where mistakes do not cause you to lose connection, but we also must ensure that the privilege of independent pole practice is not taken away from other students for violations that make us subject to liability.

    • Violation consequences are up to the discretion of the owners.

If you have any questions or request an exception to the prerequisite please submit a contact form on the contact page of this website.

Private Instruction Policy

Open Pole sessions are designed for individual training and creative practice, not for teaching or private lessons. Instructors may not conduct 1:1 or group training during Open Pole or any session that isn’t designated as instructional.

If you’re an instructor interested in offering private training, please reach out to discuss partnership options or approved studio rentals. We support independent instructors who align with our community values and want to collaborate transparently.

Offering private instruction without prior approval violates our policy. We believe in addressing issues through conversation and clarity, but repeat misuse of the space may result in restricted access.

Studio Rental Policy

Our studio is available for hourly rental to those looking for a calm, creative space to teach, stretch, rehearse, or host small wellness sessions. This option is perfect for independent instructors, movement artists, and community partners whose work aligns with our values of community, safety, care, and inclusion.

Because these sessions are self-led, renters are responsible for their own setup, cleanup, and respectful use of the space. Poles and aerial equipment are not available for use unless approved in advance.

Rates:
$75/hour – personal or creative use
$100/hour – professional or client-based use (there is a 2hr minimum for professional rental)
$50/hour – community partnerships or mutual-aid projects

We have a pole-away system where the last 3 poles can be put away for use in the space. Pole away does require an additional $50 to the rental due to the labor to take them up and put them down (they must be leveled etc when set back up).

Proof of insurance or a signed liability waiver is required for any instructor-led activity. Access includes a 15-minute setup and teardown window on each end of the booking. All rentals must be requested and approved before confirmation to ensure safety, availability, and alignment with our studio purpose.

For more information or to inquire about availability through our contact form or via email flourish_cbus@gmail.com

Workshops & Guest Instructors

Flourish welcomes opportunities to collaborate with movement artists and instructors whose work aligns with our values of safety, care, and inclusion. To keep our standards consistent and protect everyone involved, all workshops fall into one of two categories:

Flourish-Hosted Workshops

These are classes or events coordinated and promoted by Flourish. We handle registration, marketing, and participant communication. Guest instructors receive an agreed-upon teaching fee or revenue split.

Independent Workshops (Studio Rentals)

Workshops hosted fully by external instructors are considered studio rentals. Independent instructors are responsible for their own registration, payments, and communication. Proof of insurance and a signed studio rental agreement are required before any session is confirmed. Standard professional rental rates apply.

Collaborative Workshops

For co-hosted or collaborative workshops, Flourish uses a base-rate-plus-revenue-share model. This structure ensures the studio’s operating costs are covered while allowing both partners to benefit from shared effort and promotion. The base rental fee reserves the space, and additional revenue is divided according to the level of collaboration, setup, and marketing support provided.

If you’re interested in collaborating on a workshop or community event, reach out to discuss your idea, proposed format, and audience. We’ll determine together what structure fits best for safety, sustainability, and shared success.

All workshops must be reviewed and approved in advance. We reserve the right to decline events that don’t align with our mission, community agreements, or safety standards.

Private Instruction Policy

If you’re an instructor interested in offering private training, please reach out to discuss partnership options or approved studio rentals. We support independent instructors who align with our community values and want to collaborate transparently.

Offering private instruction without prior approval violates our community agreements and rental policies. We believe in addressing issues through conversation and clarity, but repeat misuse of the space may result in restricted access.
