What To Know Before You Go & Other Frequently Asked Questions!
How do I get ready for a pole class?
Glad you asked! Pole loves skin — it’s how we grip the pole safely — so you’ll want to wear shorts or boy-short style bottoms and a tank or sports bra. If you prefer coverage, pole leggings work too, but they can make grip trickier. Skip the lotion and oils (yes, this is your official pass to show up ashy — you’re welcome). Rings and bracelets should stay home or tucked away so they don’t damage the poles.
Basically, if you can comfortably move, sweat, and stick, you’re good.
We do have one silicone pole, it can be booked specifically in open pole sessions if you prefer but it cant be reserved in classes. Our Silicone pole is only cleaned with water.
*Note, we will not always have pole grip available so consider bringing some in the event that we don’t!
What do I do when I arrive?
Park, breathe, and come on in through the main business park door and down the hall. If the door’s locked, knock — we unlock at least 15 minutes before class and keep it open about 10 minutes after class start.
Once inside, please take your shoes off and put on the shoe rack, drop your stuff in a cubby or against a wall, grab a microfiber towel and alcohol spray, and clean your pole (silicone is cleaned with water only). Your instructor will greet you, lead the warm-up, and make sure you’re set. After class, clean your pole again, toss your towel in the pink basket, and put supplies back <3
What about Open Pole?
For open pole sessions, park in front of the building or at the back, note there is limited space in the back but that is the only entry at this time, to our space as we work out other access with the property management. If it’s daylight, the main business park doors might be open, if they are, you’ll go straight down the hall and back out through the double black doors - swing a left and you’re at the Open Pole door. Hit the glowing red button, punch in your code, and you’ll hear the click of freedom. Lock the door behind you, pick your lighting vibe (color, strobe, fade — your call), and get to work. Please note that there is a remote on the wall by the front door that you will need to click “on” and that will also allow you to change the light setting. To connect to the Bluetooth, you’ll note the speaker by the back wall & you’ll need to connect. Please refer to studio policies page for additional information on open pole :)
What if I have questions?
Email us or Fill out our contact form!!! Whether it’s pole grip questions, or you just want to double-check something, we’re happy to help. If you have an access issue for open pole, please “ring” the doorbell and we will answer you in the moment. You may also call our office number but it is not always attended due to other obligations of the owners.
Can beginners really start here?
Absolutely. Most of us started without knowing a spin from a sit. Our intro and beginner classes are made for real people — not contortionists, not gymnasts, just folks curious to see what their bodies can do. We’ll meet you right where you are and cheer you the whole way up the pole.
Is there a weight limit for the poles?
Nope! Our poles are professional-grade and rated for all bodies. They can and want to handle you ;)
Do I need upper-body strength to start?
No — you’ll build that here. Pole naturally strengthens your arms, core, and grip over time. The best way to get “pole strong” is to come to pole class.
Can I bring a friend to watch or film?
Have your friend sign up! You may record but please protect our community by avoiding filming others without their consent. If you post a video, please blur others. Also, some instructors may only allow filming during the last bit of class. They will let you know! Also don’t hesitate to ask if you’re feeling unsure! Your instructor will probably film themselves too shoot, we all want to capture the grandeur! Our space is for participation rather than spectating and everyone present must be registered and have a signed waiver. There will be opportunities for your friends to see you dance in person! Showcases are a great chance to really show up and show out!
Do I need heels or special shoes?
Not unless you want to! Most of our beginner classes are sock-friendly and/or barefoot. Once you’re ready to try heels, we’ll help you pick a pair that works for your level (and your ankles). Heels classes will need a pole dance shoe. A 7-8in boot is recommended from Pleasers.com
What if I’m nervous?
You’re in good company. Everyone’s a little nervous the first time. We promise — within ten minutes you’ll be laughing, sweating, and wondering why you waited so long to try it.
What if I’m not flexible?
Good. Me Neither lol Jk but listen, you don’t need to be. Flexibility isn’t a requirement, it’s something we build along the way. Pole helps you get bendy without forcing it. Come as you are, and let your body surprise you — that’s what makes it feel so revolutionary!
Ok Ok What about my old injuries?
All instructors will provide different ways to do moves and modifications! If you are navigating around a tricky knee or hypermobility etc. let them know!
